Contemporary Family Garden, Wanborough
Our brief was to create a garden with lots of interest, encouraging the family to spend time outside, making the most of the usable space. A garden that looks interesting when viewed from inside the house throughout the year.
With grown up children we were able to replace most of the lawn with points of interest. A large paved entertaining area using contemporary slabs broken up with contrasting stone setts provides space for casual seating and dining.
A secondary curved seating area with raised bed, composite decking and seating along with space for a fire bowl is positioned to capture the late afternoon sun. Complete with lighting it allows for entertaining well into the evening.
A contemporary pool of water contained within a Corten Steel reservoir creates a peaceful place to enjoy reflections of a nearby feature tree.
A slate sphere focal point can be enjoyed looking out from the house or from the various seating areas around the garden.
Grey porcelain paving, silver grey granite gravel and Corten Steel elements such as the water bowl and four circular arches compliments this contemporary scheme.
Status: Construction due to start Spring 2024.
